FlashTV™
The Future Now, Absolutely Wicked!
When ZOOLOOK launched FlashTV on July 25, 2001, the site was relatively unknown to the flash community. However, it didn’t take long for the website to get noticed, receiving 3 million hits in just a few weeks. Under the URL, IWantMyFlashTV.com, FlashTV featured 18 genres of flash-animated movies to choose from while offering as close to a tv-like experience on the web as you can get.
“Kill your television. You don’t need it anymore. You’veYou’ve got FlashTV. And there’s enough content here to keep you busy until the web gets banned by over-zealous politicians.”
PAUL DOUGLAS, PSNEXT Magazine (August/September 2003)
FlashTV’s first recognition was the prestigious FWA of the Day Award on August 5, 2001. The awards would continue to flow in, including tv appearances for ZOOLOOK on TechNow TV and TechTV. On November 1, 2002, Macromedia wrote, ‘‘Internet thrills the video star at Macromedia Flash community site,’’ while recognizing FlashTV as its Site of the Day.
