Ruben Sandoval

Daly City native Ruben Sandoval started playing the trombone at age 10, coming up in the diverse music scene of the Bay Area. Having studied under local legends like John Calloway, Wayne Wallace and Melecio Magdaluyo, he continues to work within as well as expand upon the rich musical tradition he has inherited.

His performance credits include the San Francisco Carnavál, Monterey Jazz Festival, Sierra Nevada World Music Festival, as well as many more.

Currently, he is making waves as a founding member of Soltrón, the Latin fusion band that seeks to marry the music of the Latin diaspora with R&B, rock and pop influences; they recently released their debut album.
