Ian Idels

Ian Idels has been drumming since he could walk, and he doesn’t plan to stop until he hits the top. During his childhood he was surrounded by the sounds of Miles David and Debussy, with the occasional Beatles album thrown in there.

The teenage years were all pop and rock and roll.  Whilst dabbling in the world of psychedelics, Ian formed a fondness for reverberated guitars and dark, dampened drums. At this point every thing changed for Ian.  He moved to San Francisco, studied humanism and mysticism at San Francisco State University and played the Bay Area house show circuit for a few years.  Apart from playing that one garage on the corner of 33rd and Kirkham, Ian has also played in actual venues around the city.  When he’s not drumming for Talk of Shamans, Gestures and Sol Tevél, you can find him walking through Golden Gate Park, breathing in the local crisp air and singing to himself.
