At the forefront of a fresh, young crop of Dancehall talent is Shawn Ice. Following the release of his fiery sophomore EP, dubbed ‘The Dancehall Truth’, the rising star quickly solidified his position as the next big Dancehall artist on the horizon in 2017. The 5-track EP and the popularity of it’s ‘Mixture’ single and video respectively served as the basis of a tour in 2017, which touched down in several U.S. cities and Guyana. Fast forward to 2018 and Shawn Ice is riding high off songs like ‘So Addicted’ and ‘Okkk’, which feature his renowned spit fire delivery over pulsating riddims.

Shawn Ice hails from St. Mary, Jamaica and migrated to the United States a few years ago, settling down in the DC area.As a youngster, music came quite natural to him. By age fourteen, Shawn was already molding a professional image for himself, deejaying for anyone who would listen and writing songs. Ultimately, Shawn moved to the epicenter of Reggae and Dancehall music — Kingston, Jamaica — to hone his craft and nurture his love for the music. Being in Kingston exposed him to a more developed and organized side of the music and provided him an opportunity to network with some of the industry’s movers and shakers.

With relationships burgeoning in the Reggae and Dancehall music industry, Shawn Ice has found himself in the perfect space to put his career in full throttle. Applying the very same work ethics as in Jamaica, Shawn Ice’s efforts are paying off. Much to his credit, Shawn Ice nabbed DC Reggae Music Awards for ‘Artiste of the Year’ in 2015 and 2016.

Well received music, numerous performances and being respected by industry peers, producer, fans and media alike have proven that Shawn Ice is a force to be reckoned with.
