Sgt. Remo continues to blaze through 2022 with another anthem in the making. This time, Remo teams up with the bossman Lutan Fyah for Roots Rock Reggae. Roots Rock Reggae is a bouncy, feel-good song with a rolling bassline, drum machine beat, and acoustic guitar produced by McPullish in Austin, TX. Sgt. Remo and Lutan Fyah trade magnetic verses with a sticky-like-glue “gimme the roots, rock, reggae music” line by Lutan. So if you’re not rocking back and forth while you listen, check your pulse!
This single is a pre-release from the full-length Sgt. Remo album that will be available on vinyl and digital platforms on September 20, 2022. The album celebrates ten years since his debut EP. The 10-track album includes a melodica version of Roots Rock Reggae plus eight other songs and will be available for pre-order on the Sgt. Remo Bandcamp page on Aug. 20.
During the Austin Reggae Festival, Rick Rodriguez filmed the Roots Rock Reggae video in Austin, TX. Part of King Remo Sound System was set up at Charlie’s Dub Corner at the fest and served as the backdrop for the video.
Sgt. Remo has been on fire since 2021 with a string of scorching releases, including ‘Just Getting Started’, and ‘Delivery Service’ feat. Ranking Joe, and ‘Sweet Reggae Music’.
