Soulfiya, a prominent figure in the American reggae scene, has been actively engaged in his musical journey since 2005. Hailing from Guyana, this seasoned singer/DJ has passionately championed Caribbean/American reggae for over 15 years, challenging conventional American perceptions of the genre in favor of a more traditional sound. Notable achievements include his feature on the Billboard Reggae Top 10 album, “Champion Sound” by Skillinjah, and the success of his solo projects, “Bushdoctor” in 2019 (#3) and “Offering” in 2021 (#5), both securing positions in the iTunes Top 5 Reggae Albums. Soulfiya’s musical fusion incorporates elements of reggae, dancehall, dub, Soca, and cumbia, resulting in an uproarious and undeniably distinctive authentic sound that consistently elevates the energy in any crowd. His extensive performance history spans 39 states and four nations, including collaborations with numerous contemporary and legendary reggae icons.
From the dead of Winter and fresh off a nomination for Male Reggae Artiste of the Year from Demroc Music, Fiya presents a refreshing short EP titled “Bless Up.” Though consisting of only two tracks, each tune exudes joy and praise, making them uplifting celebrations of life suitable for any season but definitely adding a touch of tropical heat to your Winter. This EP was co-produced by the Grammy-nominated El Dusty and Los XL, introducing a unique Miami flavor to the mix and adding a distinctive touch to the song. In the lead single, “Bless Up,” the team draws inspiration from the popular vibes of afro-pop, blending it seamlessly with elements of Soca and dancehall to craft a rich pepper pot of authentic Guyanese style.
