Born in the Northern suburbs of Paris, the French band Samskara has one goal: bring all massives with it in a full vibe journey!

Although the heart of the band is deeply entrenched in ‘Roots and Culture,’ Samskara’s music is inspired from many sources, blending different styles together in order to break down cultural barriers.

Samskara takes you on a wild musical voyage, blending ska and dub styles along with roots reggae. They have shared the stage with Israel Vibration & Roots Radics, The Gladiators, Jah Mason, Lutan Fyah, Pierpoljak, Mister Gang and many more.

With their first album ‘Mise Au Vert’ or ‘Going Green’ as we could say in English released in September 2014, Samskara began their rapid ascent in French reggae culture. The album features 14 original wicked tracks including ‘Family’s Cryin,’ ‘Children of Jah,’ and ‘Sans conscience’ and attained instant popularity. It was nominated at the Reggae Awards 2015 by Reggae.fr as ‘the French revelation of the year.’

In May 2015 they performed at Festival Jahmazonia, a long running reggae festival in Longny-Au-Perche, France. This year’s event was organized to raise awareness of issues relating to deforestation in Brazil and to support Cacique Raoni, chief of the Kayapo people, a Brazilian Indigenous group who has long been fighting for the preservation of the Amazon rainforest and of the indigenous culture.

With a second album in the works, this super talented, eight-man crew is definitely a group to follow in 2015!
