Black Salt Tone is a progressive reggae, roots, rock band based in Orange County, California featuring Joshua Black (Lead Vocals, Lead Guitar), Tree Salt (Drums, Vocals), Kobo Tone (Percussion, Keys, Electronics) and Ralph Licea-Puglia (Bass Guitar, Backing Vocals). Consistently ranked #1 on Reverbnation, Black Salt Tone joined forces in February 2011 and have been pounding away at the reggae scene ever since. Above all influences, a fierce love of reggae was born out of their introduction to the one and only Bob Marley.

They have a reputation for innovating musically and blowing up the stage with high energy performances. They lovingly craft honest lyrics, brutal beats, thumping bass lines, scorching keys, passionate vocals and moving guitar solos.

Having released two albums, ‘Into The Unknown’ and ‘Rise’ on iTunes as well as an EP ‘Diversity Voltron’, they are hard at work on their third album ‘Galaxy.’ Black Salt Tone has toured the west coast extensively in both five-state ‘Salt Of The Earth’ and ‘Hear The Waves’ tours. They’ve blown up the stage at Unity Festival on the Russian River, California Roots Music & Arts Festival 2013 and 2014 and Reggae Rise Up in Salt Lake City. They are scheduled to play Reggae In The Hills, Reggae On The Mountain, North West Roots Festival and North Umpqua Reggae Rock Festival in 2015.

Keep your eyes and ears open as they are sure to continue spreading their message of hope, survival, love and progress on their musical journey somewhere near you!
