Zafayah

Zafayah is a versatile artist and a reggae pioneer in his own country, Bulgaria. A lyrical talent and a producer, he is on a mission to spread the message of love, tolerance and overstanding. At the moment, Zafayah is working on a new EP heading into a more rootical direction as well as on his second album.

One of the latest releases where he is featured, namely “Speak The Fire” with Christos DC & The Skankin’ Monks is a song and a video made during Zafayah and Christos DC’s India Tour, January 2017. The song reached no. 18 on the International Reggae Charts.

His debut solo album, One In Spirit, features eleven pieces, ranging from deep and meditative roots, to dancehall and even soul and jazz. Amongst the collaborators are Jahcoustix, Mellow Mood, Jahmmi Youth and Dub Caravan. The album’s first video, “The Great Forgetting” feat. Jahcoustix (IrieVibrations Records), is also included in Jahcoustix’s album Acoustic Frequency.

The second video single, “A Tribute To The Veterans”, was released on Reggaeville. The video for the steppers remix of “New Day” had very positive feedback, and the song has been played by various international radio stations. One In Spirit is available on most platforms.

International collaborations include works with Jahcoustix (DE), Mellow Mood (IT), Christos DC (US), Dub Caravan (UK), Toussaint (US), Ras Zacharri (JA), Illbilly Hitec (DE), Webcam HiFi (FR), Mysticman (SE), Danjah (SE), Fireson Bantu (KEN) etc. He has performed at festivals and clubs in UK, France, Switzerland, Sweden, Slovenia, Slovakia, Greece, Romania, Serbia, Macedonia, Bulgaria, Turkey, India, Nepal etc. and shared the stage with some of the reggae greats, such as Israel Vibration, Kymani Marley and Capleton.
