Jah Jah Knows

Steffani Seven is a powerful Jamaican singer and performer who is among a new generation of female artists that have embarked on the Jamaican music scene in recent years.

Coming from a church background she developed her voice through gospel music. With her group as well as a soloist she first started winning local, national and later international competitions in the performing arts, using her dynamic vocals, dance and acting. These early successes led up to a 4-year engagement as a backing vocalist for the legendary Jamaican gospel singer Carlene Davis, performing throughout the USA, Canada, and the Caribbean.

Being a very captivating performer combined with having great composing and writing skills in music and lyrics, she began looking for ways to unfold her immense creative energy. She first recorded her own original songs in 2011 in Jamaica. This proved her talent, which encouraged her to venture into developing her career as a solo artist.

In 2013, she received an unexpected call to join the cast of the Walt Disney musical, ‘The Lion King’ in Hamburg, Germany, for which she had attended a casting 3 years prior to that. Moving to Germany has exposed Steffani to artists from various parts of the world and together with having a new perspective on life from another side of the world, it is also reflecting on her songwriting.

Currently, she is working on recordings for her debut album, which will be dominated by Reggae styles such as Roots Reggae, Lovers Rock and Ska, but also infused with splashes of Soul, Dancehall & Afrobeat. At a number of selected events, backed by her international band, she has already excited her German audience with a taste of what is to come.
