The song talks about the struggle to be an independent artist – especially as an artist, a woman, black and peripheral – and was created by Regiane a few years ago, especially for a project focused on the sound system culture. However, Regiane had kept these lyrics to herself until now, when she decided it was time to share the music with the world.
“The lyrics say a lot to my heart because it shows how the structure of ‘runs’ works independently of a black and peripheral Brazilian artist, who still insists on surviving music in this country”, explains Regiane.
