Indie Allen

Jamaica

Indie Allen, is a young singer-songwriter born in Montego Bay St James in 1992. In 2011, he moved to Kingston where he began his professional music career after entering the popular Jamaican talent show called Digicel Rising Stars. He claimed fourth place out of 9 thousand Jamaicans. Indie later became the lead singer of a local band named ‘Phuzzion’ who collaborated with many Reggae icons such as Maxi Priest, Third World, and other Artistes from the reggae music fraternity.

In 2015, Indie released his first studio project ‘Indiemoment’ on which he worked with producers JTwist and Nicolas Groskopf. The project was comprised of tracks Titled as: Jamaica, Lion Pride, Cave of hearts and I’ve been waiting. To our surprise the songs were in constant rotation in Alaska while locally in Jamaica the EP CDs were sold out at pop up shops at various shows. Indie Allen who aspires to be a global figure believes that in order to sustain his relevance in the music industry he would need to develop a strong brand. He widened his horizons by writing for other artiest and contributing to writing songs for the Forbidden Fruit musical.

Indie Allen later went under the mentorship of prolific songwriter and producer Mikey Bennett in 2016. During this time Indie found further direction and inspiration on his journey to grow his brand value. “The music I produce now are more than just songs. I now understood my purpose as a musician, being a singer/songwriter and also what it means to be a vessel with a message.”

His first official release titled, ‘Catch a Fire’, was released in February 2018, with a music video that premiered on the IRIE Channel (ROKU). At present, Indie is working on a major project in the studio to be released soon, while the international market seems to be catching on to the fire. You can definitely expect great things from Indie Allen.
