Highest Intention Meets Tony Chin is the band’s next chapter, a collaborative roots reggae album with legendary Jamaican guitarist Tony Chin. The 9-track project merges classic ’70s-style Jamaican harmonies and conscious songwriting with live, old-school roots energy.
The record delivers a blend of conscious social commentary, lovers rock, and heavy basslines. Featured tracks include “Ghetto Life,” which tackles rising living costs and systemic inequality, and “Mr. Babylon,” another scorcher that addresses police brutality.
The album is produced by Ben Lowe, with keys by Michael Hyde, mixing and mastering by E.N. Young, and distributed via Universal Light Records.
About Ben Lowe
Ben Lowe is a professional musician, guitarist, and music producer dedicated to reviving roots reggae. He is the creator and lead of Highest Intention, a California-based roots reggae band known for socially conscious lyrics, deep-rooted grooves, and powerful live energy.
Trained by relatives and band members of reggae legend Peter Tosh in Oakland, California, Ben developed a deep connection to authentic Jamaican roots reggae. His vision for Highest Intention blends traditional reggae with a progressive sound for a new era, combining thoughtful songwriting, heavy beats, deep bass lines, hypnotic melodies, and vintage dub-style effects.
In addition to leading Highest Intention, Ben is the lead guitarist and harmony vocalist for international reggae star Pato Banton. He is also an accomplished music producer with hundreds of film and television sync placements to his name. The band has released five original albums and regularly performs along the West Coast.
