What can I say… Cine Gear Expo 2026 was well worth the trip! For the 30th anniversary of Cine Gear Expo LA, we hit the road from San Francisco at 5 a.m. on a friday morning, heading south to Universal Studios in Burbank. We managed to miss all he traffic, and made it in by 11 a.m.. We were first greeted by a line of cars waiting to get into the Universal Studios parking lot, which was FREE for all attendees! Imagine that! The NAB SHOW in Las Vegas had standard self-parking at the Las Vegas Convention Center (LVCC) from $15 to $25 per day.
Once we were parked, we stepped straight into two full days of cameras, lenses, lighting, production tools, and the kind of conversations that remind you why events like this still matter.
What made Cine Gear 2026 LA stand out to Jave, Lee, and I, was that it’s not just a place to look at gear, it’s a place to experience it. You’re walking through an active studio backlot surrounded by the people building the tools filmmakers actually use, and more importantly, you can put your hands on them. Cameras, lenses, LED lighting systems, motion control rigs, monitors, wireless tools, production accessories, it’s all there, powered on, ready to test, and ready to be talked about by the people who know it best.
