Jimroy Brown

Hungry

Jimroy Alexander Brown, better known as Jimroy, was born on November 11, 1953, in Trelawny Warsop, Jamaica. He left Trelawny to live in Trenchtown with his mother and Stepfather at age ten, where he attended the Boy’s Town Primary School.

During this time in his life, he visited Bob Marley on his way from school on First Street, where Bob Marley and his colleagues such as Alton Ellis, Delroy Wilson, Toots And The Maytal, and many more would do their rehearsal.

In 1976 Jimroy, left for St. Mary, where he formed a singing group called Strugglas Brother’s with Sleepy, Devon, and himself.

On their music journey, they met the Black Brother Roots Band, where they had started their first rehearsal. Unfortunately, the Strugglas brothers fell apart two years later, so Jimroy continued his journey solo.

In 1984, Jimroy started his first recordings, with songs such as ‘Red Natty Dread’ and ‘Jacklyn’ at Tuff Gong Studio produced by Colin Samson. Unfortunately, things didn’t work out for Jimroy and Colin Samson. Many years passed, but Jimroy is back recording new songs such as ‘Hungry,’ ‘Journey,’ and ‘Letter’ with Asher E from out of Europe.

Jimroy’s Latest track, Hungry’ is produced by Asher-E Productions with backing vocals by Robina Souilljee. On February 18, 2022, a Melodica Version will be released by Asher-E featuring Jimroy Brown.
