Tenja in Dub joins forces with Blackout JA for the powerful new single “System Killa”, dropping 20th March 2026 via Bristol label dUb from the Ruins. Rooted firmly in sound system tradition, this militant steppers dub cut delivers a heavyweight statement aimed directly at the heart of Babylon.
A driving, militant steppers riddim forms the backbone, over this sonic attack, Blackout JA delivers a vocal performance steeped in culture and urgency. His voice doesn’t sit politely in the mix; it cuts through it. Direct. Unfiltered. Calling out corruption, control, and the tightening grip of corporate and political power structures.
Blackout JA’s raw vocal performance hits with urgency and authenticity, delivering conscious lyrics that challenge listeners while keeping the energy locked for the session.
With its unapologetic stance and authentic dub foundation, “System Killa” stands as both a protest anthem and a sound system weapon, a reminder that dub music remains a powerful voice for truth and resistance.
With System Killa, dUb from the ruins continues its post-apocalyptic narrative: in a collapsing world, the sound system serves as both a warning siren and a rallying point.
About dUb from the ruins
Steppas dUb reggae soundsystem music born on an apocalyptic doomsday, forged from a backlash to oppression and echoed through the rubble of torn buildings.
The voice of the revolutionary, the clash of wood, steel, stone, and concrete.
dUb from the ruins record label takes inspiration from the early founders of dub reggae and the modern digital ‘steppers’ dub style. A post-apocalyptic aesthetic influences the artwork. The high-intensity militant rhythms are built for sound systems. The vocal message reflects a world corrupted and heading toward ruin, and calls for stopping further destruction.
The sound system will survive after all other systems have shattered, emerging from the rubble as a call.
