The Stern Grove Festival is a magical place to spend your summer afternoon for a day of community, nature, and FREE live music. All ages are welcome, and the folks behind the festival do their best to make it inclusive and inviting to all. The event is always free, but a ticket is required.
The Stern Grove Festival, a non-profit organization, has been making free live music accessible to all since 1938. The festival is held in the beautiful Sigmund Stern Grove, a historic amphitheater donated to San Francisco by the festival’s founder, Rosalie Stern, in 1932. It’s a living testament to the power of music and community.
IRIE and multidisciplinary artist and musician ZOOLOOK were proud to sponsor this fantastic summer event. Artists performing this year included Tegan and Sara, Chicano Batman, the SF Symphony, The Commodores, Masego, Franc Moody & Drama, Alex G, Herbie Hancock, Lucinda Williams, Sylvan Esso & Poolside, Chaka Khan, and Steel Pulse.
And new for this year, Stern Grove Festival hosted its first-ever two-day farewell fundraiser “The Big Picnic” on Saturday and Sunday, August 24-25, 2024 to close out the season.
Stern Grove Festival relies on donations from people like you to cover nearly 100% of the costs of presenting admission-free concerts. Make a tax-deductible donation and support admission-free access to the arts for all!
