The Drop

United Kingdom

‘Accident Causer’ is the third single from The Drop’s debut album, ‘Last Stand’, out 14th September 2018
on Shoal Records.

Accident Causer is a tune for the dancehall, funky Reggae meets early 90’s Shabba Ranks, with a hint of Sublime. The arrangement takes you on a wild ride with plenty of hooks and groove coming from each instrument, reaching crescendo with an epic Hendrix-esque guitar solo. Lyrically the song is a tongue-in-cheek narration of a hazardous drive through a landscape where distraction is rife!

The Drop took some time out after a frantic first few years of gigging to perfect ‘Last Stand’. The album, recorded at the prestigious KONK Studios, features dub pioneer Lee ‘Scratch’ Perry on first single, ‘Dunna Runna’.

Described as ‘UK Reggae at its best’, The Drop’s contemporary take on Jamaican Roots music has been accepted and acclaimed across the board. National radio support from David Rodigan (BBC Radio 1Xtra), Craig Charles (BBC 6 Music), Lauren Laverne (BBC 6 Music), Gilles Peterson (World Wide FM), Becca Duddley (Beats 1), Huw Stevens (BBC 6 Music), and online support from Clash, Bandcamp, Irie Mag, Reggaeville, United Reggae and UK Bass Music to name a few.
