Rick Haze

Chicago raised artist Rick Haze had an ear for music at an early age. When he was 4 years old, his pops got him a drum set and from there he was in. Like many, he listened to various music growing up. However his parents taste in music is what influenced him. His parents moved away from Chicago to escape the harsh inner city conditions they were living in, and at the age of 15, Rick began to flow with rhymes and beat on tables with pens.Kicked out of high school, Rick straighten himself up by enlisting in the Armed Forces. During his service, he started building his home studio where he began making music infused with reggae and hip hop. He gained attention from coast to coast and released a slew of reggae inspired albums which did very well on the iTunes charts. Following the end of his service in 2013 he attended school at Full Sail University to perfect his craft in producing and shortly after graduating in August of 2015, went on his first headlining west coast tour.

Rick traveled thousands of miles with his band and tour bus and played everywhere from San Diego, to Las Vegas, to Oakland where he had the opportunity to play with artists such as Nas, Damian Marley, Bassnectar, Aloe Blacc and more. Following his tour he went through a very dark time in his life due to personal issues, and it inspired him to create a whole new brand and persona to shadow what he was going through. Thus, the character ‘Voodoo’ was created. An evil clown producer alter-ego who signified the hardships he endured mentally as well as creatively. With the release of his first single ‘Sewer Surfing’, he was stuck in the lap working on his debut hip hop album ‘Personal’ which was scheduled to release on all outlets on September 20, 2016. The album debuted in the top 20 of independent rap albums on Apple Music and released to mainly positive review. His single ‘One Pulse’ was featured on A&R Worldwide and he was featured as artist of the week. During the fall of 2016, he toured nationally with Hawaiian band Inna Vision promoting his new album, ‘Personal’. On the road, he also produced Inna Vision’s album ‘Highest Grade’ which released on March 3, 2017. Rick plans to tour and perform in the U.S for the rest of the year and release a good amount of visuals for his newly released album!
