Rasta Unity

Australia

Described as inspiring, refreshing and re-invigorating, Rasta Unity are a multi-cultural family that has established itself as an iconic Roots Reggae band in Australia. They bring a message of universal love and higher consciousness through a 70’s & 80’s Jamaican Roots sound.

A strong presence in Melbourne, they’ve played to Reggae-lovers and general gig goers alike at some of the city’s biggest venues and festivals such as the Night Cat, Max Watts, the Corner Hotel and Jamaican Music and Food Festival.

RU has plans to hit the East Coast in January on a two-week tour to promote their latest single and title track of their recently recorded album Youth Rize Up. The song is a powerful shout out to leaders, parents and educators to encourage the youth to be independent and free thinkers.

“The youth are the leaders of tomorrow – they live by example, so we need to watch our actions. Watching our own grow is a blessing” explains Sistah Candice.

Youth Rize Up enjoys the playing of Reggae legends Bubbler! (Black Uhuru), Wayne Armond (Chalice) and C Sharp (Steel Pulse), as well as a collaboration with Jamaican singer Lutan Fyah who has 13 studio releases and African & European tours under his belt.

… they’re also itching to show audiences a sneak peek of what is their biggest body of work to date; recorded at Jamaica’s notorious Tuff Gong Studios.

With a message that’s relevant the world over, Rasta Unity are excited to the share their uplifting and righteous music to the East Coast of Australia. Make sure to catch this beautiful display of multiculturalism, uniting for a common cause.… One of justice and equality!
