After a long career, performing on the national and international stages, in which she has accumulated a great musical experience, which has allowed her to develop not only as a singer but also as a producer and cultural manager, Martinika has launched her first single as a solo artist. The track, titled ‘Baby No’, will be part of a full album that will be released in September 2018.

‘Baby No’, which is available on all the major streaming platforms, such as Deezer, Spotify and iTunes, also has a music video, which was produced by La Crema Films and can be seen on YouTube. The video features women that are not only the protagonists, but also worked in the production of art, with jewelry, makeup and independent fashion that build an eminently feminine visual concept, giving more emphasis to the message of the song.

Empowerment and feminine power are the main points of this song, whose message focuses on women can take control of their lives with character and attitude to say ‘no’ without fear when something stops working and when they want to continue life with tranquility.

Martinika’s new single featured the musical production of a working group that included Makyriam Fresh, Etune, Lion Paw, Henry Gamboa and Patrick Mildembarg, to achieve a lively song, with electronic sounds, mixed with dancehall and some rock.

The beginning of Martinika’s career as a solo artist will be marked by an alternative dancehall sound, which combines reggae, dancehall, dub, soul and afrotrap, which can be enjoyed on the album when it releases in September 2018.
