Kosmo Sound

Antenna

They’re back… Kosmo Sound from Ghent, Belgium, presents its long-awaited debut album ‘Antenna’.

The instrumental sextet is inspired by the typical dub sound where their background in jazz is never far away. They mix heavy basslines and tight drums with spacy melodies into an organic trip that sets every venue on fire. They have already performed twice as the support act for Dub legend Adrian Sherwood and became winners of Sound Track 2019. Their new album – recorded and mixed by Koen Gisen – will be released on Vinyl and CD by Zephyrus Records on November 6, 2020.

Kosmo Sound saw daylight in late summer of 2016 when two Ghent-based musicians, bass player Mattias Geernaert (Compro Oro, Gentrifuge) and drummer Marius Couvreur (Madame Blavatsky, RVB quartet) found one another in the concept of a groovy and danceable dub-based creation.

After a few jam sessions and brainstorms the search was open for other like minded musicians. Both on the electric guitar, jazzmen Cyriel Vandenabeele (Okkupeerder, FUR, Vliegtuig, Oogie ft. Becca Stevens) and Edmund Lauret (Nordmann, The Milk Factory, FUR) were welcomed together with Bos Debusscher (Pura Vida, Lee ‘Scratch’ Perry, The Congos) on keyboard and Ambroos De Schepper (Bandler Ching, Mòs Ensemble, Boogie Belgique) on saxophone. The rest is history!

We love the Kosmo Sound and invite you to stream or buy their latest release, Antenna! Respect!
