Jah Dartanhan

Dartanhan dos Santos Nogueira is a singer and composer from São Paulo, Brazil. He began his career at the age of seventeen after discovering his affinity for music, especially for singing. He studied lyrical singing at the University of São Paulo Choir (USP) for many years and acquired his vocal technique.

Jah Dartanhan has never limited himself musically. Possessing incredible vocal abilities, he has flirted with different music genres ranging from R & B and Soul to Blues and MPB. In 2006, he was invited to sing in the band, ‘Damata’, where they developed a strong working relation in the reggae scene from São Paulo. With Damata, Jah Dartanhan gained prominence and managed to record some songs in the independent circuit while opening for some important shows for national and international artists.

Dartanhan’s musical freedom has made it possible for his work to be produced. A number of his singles have been released with national and international artists, bands and producers, including a partnership with Dj Feva (DJ) and producer of hip-hop at the important ‘Espirito Mondo’ festival in Birmigham, England.

Jah Dartanhan has pursued a solo career since 2015 and is currently working on the production of his first album collaborating with musician and producer, Wagner Bagão (Dubalizer), through the label, Audiofya Records.

Jah Dartanhan continues to tread a new path, exploring dance rhythms and conscious and positive lyrics, all while generating new ideas that blend roots reggae music with mainstream music for an avant-garde music production.
