Be Wise

Delroy ‘Putus Roots’ Williams was born in 1956 in St. Thomas, Jamaica, and moved to Kingston in the mid 70’s. At that time, he joined the emblematic and famous tribe, the ‘Mystic Revelation of Rastafari’ and began his musical career as a nyabinghi drummer and singer.

Putus Needs Our Help

His house and most of the ‘Mystic Revelation’ drums and percussion instruments were destroyed in a fire last July at Rockfort in East Kingston. The fire was started by a man of unsound mind who was known to have slept occasionally at the back of the house despite being constantly chased away. Other historical artifacts that were used in the birth of Jamaica’s popular music were destroyed as well.

A movement of solidarity has already been established through the Kabba Roots Association to fund reconstruction. A solidarity concert ‘UNITED FOR JAMAICA #2’, will also be held on February 13, 2015, in Marseille.

Duke Production decided to release the conscious Putus Roots tune, ‘Be Wise’, in support and to help build what has been destroyed in the flames. All the funds from ‘Be Wise’ sales will go directly to the cause. IRIE, Kabba Roots and Duke Production hopes you enjoy the music and thanks you personally for joining the cause. Your help is precious: LET US UNITE!
