Lady Genius

Danette Mahabeer aka. Lady Genius, is a professional singer-songwriter hailing from Clarendon Parish in Jamaica.

She was nicknamed Genius due to her quick-wittedness, versatility, great initiative and expertise. She is smart, edgy, creative and beautiful and ready for the future as her career in the entertainment industry takes her to greater heights.

Being an entertainer was always her dream and so, armed with a degree in Hospitality, Entertainment and Tourism Management from Moneague College in St Ann, she worked as an entertainment host/coordinator and planner on the hotel circuit for more than six years.

Lady Genius migrated to Atlanta in 2014 where her work as a presenter for Atlanta-based internet station Da Flava Radio and RockDaBox.net in Florida also helped her to hone her skills. In 2013 at The International Jamaica Jazz and Blues Festival in Trelawny, Lady Genius performed with the legendary AJ Brown and Taddy P and The Blow Wow Band. She has since shared the stage with such major and international stars as John Legend, Mary J. Blige, and more.

On May 15, 2014, Lady Genius graced the stage with her performance at The Artistic Dimensions Show in Kingston. She has also toured extensively through Nashville, Orlando, Mississippi, Antigua, the Cayman Islands and Canada. Lady Genius is currently working on a 12-track album ‘Nah Stop Try’,
