Asante Amen

Asante Amen, born Gavin Walters, is a Reggae singer-songwriter who has performed through-out Jamaica, the US, England, Italy, the Bahamas and Grenada.

In early 2011, Asante enjoyed a one-month stay on California’s KDVS 90.3 FM Reggae/African Top 25 album chart with his EP release ‘Over The Years’. That year he also released his full length album bearing the same title. It was a free download digital release, which helped to increase his following and proved to be a major confidence booster for the rising spiritual reggae artist.

Asante has since collaborated on tracks with artists such as Lutan Fyah and Jah Thundah. He has also performed alongside Reggae greats such as Luciano, Tony Rebel, L.U.S.T, Ken Boothe, Queen Ifrica and Beenie Man to name a few. His focus now is the promotion of his upcoming album ‘Chapter’. The album contains ten tracks and is scheduled for release in the fall of 2015 by Boom One Records, based in North Carolina. For Asante, ‘Chapter’ holds a special place in his heart as it contains songs from his own production label, High Priest Records.

‘Firm’, the first single from the upcoming album was released in January 2015, immediately becoming a fan favorite. The follow up single is a remake of the classic ‘Sinners’ by the legendary Jacob Miller & Inner Circle and is a fitting precursor to the release of ‘Chapter’.
