IRIE
Intergalactic Rebels for Interstellar Exploration
On December 26, 2013, multidisciplinary artist and musician Nicholas Da Silva, known professionally as ZOOLOOK, launched issue #1 of IRIE, a different reggae magazine. Featuring the 40th anniversary of the Reggae Ambassadors, Third World, on the cover, the publication was released in print, online, and pdf formats and was an instant hit to reggae fans worldwide.
Little did he know that the word IRIE would become a catalyst for his sci-fi universe, STONEFRENGE. STONEFRENGE: Black in Space is the sci-fi universe of ZOOLOOK, combining music, lyrics, and animations to create a unique and immersive storytelling experience.
A diehard fan of science fiction, ZOOLOOK grew up reading sci-fi books, particularly the writings of Robert Heinlein. Science fiction books were an escape for ZOOLOOK, who managed to make it through high school, daydreaming half of his school days away. The dreamer is now ready to make his universe known.
As ZOOLOOK prepares for the release of his official debut album, STONEFRENGE: Black in Space (December 15, 2023), he will also introduce his universe and the characters behind his original story, the Cavedudez / Cavebettiez of STONEFRENGE and the Soul Rebels, who belong to an organization called IRIE which stands for Intergalactic Rebels for Interstellar Exploration.
Though the Soul Rebel’s primary focus is to push the boundaries of space exploration beyond our galaxy, they strive to build bridges, foster understanding, and promote peaceful coexistence among different galactic communities through various means of communication, collaboration, and humanitarian efforts.
