Pali

Meet Pali, the Argentinian singer, songwriter and trombonist based in Salvador da Bahia, Brazil. Pali has performed in several reggae, ska and rock bands, as well as on several albums as a backing-vocalist and instrumentalist. She has also taken part in ‘The Obinrin Orchestra’ that accompanied the visit of the African Sayon Bamba on the Bahia Tour conducted by the Orchestra Director, Letieres Leite.

Her arrival to Brazil started with her own project, ‘La Naipe das Chicas’, three women leading the horn’s section and playing classic versions of reggae music. This project proceded OJC (Original Jamaican Covers): a tribute to Jamaican culture from the earliest to the most avant-garde hits.

Pali has performed intensively in the music scene, having participated in events such as Salvador Carnival, More Reggae Festival (Salvador and Camaçari), Good Square, Biergarten, City Fair, Mouth of Brassa Festival, Instrumental Festival, Super Luau Aracajú), Reggae Music Festival (São Francisco do Conde), and New Year’s Eve at the Corals of Itacaré, among others.

This year, Pali made her debut as a solo artist in her beloved Argentina, her native land, where she was received with great affection by her people. They didn’t forget that it was in Argentina where she began her career as a trombonist accompanying bands such as Sinsemilla, Suburban Resistance and Suburband. She even opened for the legendary English band, Steel Pulse, in Buenos Aires.

Today the singer presents a tribute to the Jamaican culture with a selection of ‘hits’ that marks the history of the rhythms of the Island. In addition, she includes in her repertoire her own compositions that are part of her second album, ‘Ladies First’, which includes a bonus track, ‘Faith’, recorded in collaboration with the legend of reggae-dancehall, Pato Banton.
