United States

22-year old songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Adam Gross released his debut EP ‘In Control’ on
February 9, 2018, debuting at #1 on the iTunes reggae chart.

The New York native and current Northwestern University senior combines many influences—reggae, pop, rock, electronic music, even Latin and Middle Eastern sounds—to create a four-track project exploring the duality of the notion of “control.”

On the one hand, in this tumultuous socio-political moment, many of us feel disconnected from authority
figures—those currently ‘in control’ of society’s political and economic levers. On the other hand, by
embracing a positive philosophy built around mindfulness, we can still be “in control” of our own thoughts, feelings, and approach to modern life. Enlisted to sing Gross’ lyrics on In Control are New York based vocalists Mat Layton and General Steel, as well as Antiguan rapper Tha Shya.

The project was produced and mixed by legendary producer Michael Goldwasser of the Easy Star All-Stars, best known for producing their appropriately titled reggae tribute of the Pink Floyd classic—Dub Side Of The Moon.
