Abbazero

Abbazero is an African Jewish Shaman who has worked closely as a spiritual advisor with artists all over the world for the last few decades.

He makes a rare vocal appearance in the song ‘Sh’ma Nyabinghi’ on Lior Ben-Hur’s album, and offers the following testimonial:

“Jah Levi is a genuine spirit who I have observed over the years and have come to have deep respect for. He has been tested on all levels and has maintained his commitment to opening doors for other great artists and producing quality music. He understands that music has the ability to uplift the spirit and bring people together for the bigger picture.

I first experienced Lior playing with his band at one of Jah Levi’s epic house parties. His essence and spirit brought back great memories—the memory of Bob Marley. I felt a great hope, like reggae has another chance to do something on yet another frequency, another vibration.

Getting to know him, I embraced his open heart and his concern for humanity. Jah Levi told me Lior wanted to do Shema Yisrael from a Nyabinghi perspective and the sound was powerful.

Israel and Ethiopia have a special connection. Without Israel we would not have the lineage of King David and the Lion of the Tribe of Judah in Ethiopia. It is King David’s throne that Haile Selassie I sits upon.

This album represents a new paradigm in reggae.”
