WORLDWIDE – February 27, 2014 – ZOOLOOK, a new media agency and publishing house (publishers of the Dread & Alive comic book series), today released issue #3 of the independent reggae magazine, Irie, featuring the women of Reggae music. Irie #3 features the Strong One, Etana, along with Jah9, Hempress Sativa, Kelissa, Shuga, Miriam Simone, Zenny and Sahra Indio. The issue includes Kam-Au Amen’s feature on Nanny of the Maroons as well as a new section written by Liam Monaghan entitled British Reggae. In his inaugural writeup, Liam profiles Maddy Carty, a South London-born singer/songwriter who has already received support from Sir David Rodigan MBE. Irie #3 wouldn’t be complete without the REWIND section featuring images from Rebel Salute 2014 taken by our partner, World A Reggae Co-Founder Danny Creatah.
Nicholas Da Silva, founder of ZOOLOOK and creator and publisher of Dread & Alive and Irie Magazine says, “When I set out to publish Irie, I wanted to offer a reggae magazine that equally represented the men and women of roots reggae music. I’m confident that we’ve achieved our mission.”
Issue #3 also includes two bonus tracks; “Ebony” the 2014 Black History Month Tribute by Shuga and, “Recycle Hawaii”, by Sustainable Reggae Artist, Sahra Indio!
