Meet Bob Vylan, the English punk duo based in London. They play a wikkid style of music that merges elements of grime, punk rock, and hip hop. We first learned about Bob Vylan from Dubmatix, who featured their song, Health is Wealth, on his radio show! I was hooked ever since.
Bobby Vylan is the singer/guitarist of the band, and Bobbie Vylan is the drummer. They use the stage name to protect their privacy and call themselves ‘the Bobs.’
Their third studio album, humble as the Sun, was released to critical acclaim on April 5, 2024, through Ghost Theatre.

The anonymized pairing of vocalist/instrumentalist Bobby Vylan and drummer Bobbie Vylan, English duo Bob Vylan attack societal ills with a raw fusion of punk and U.K. rap styles. Formed in the late 2010s, the duo debuted with 2017 EP Vylan, forming a potent early sound around jagged guitar lines and hazy takes on the U.K. trap scene. Over their three studio LPs, Dread (2019), We Live Here (2020), Bob Vylan Presents The Price of Life (2022), and Humble As The Sun (2024), the pair delivered abrasive combinations of rap and rock stylings, rallying against xenophobia, wealth disparity, government oppression, and right-wing ideology.
