The Defekters

Meet The Defekters… the UK based, Psychedelic/Reggae/Dub/Ska/Punk band. The four members, Cara-Jane Murphy (Vocals/Lyrics), Dan Andrews (Drums), Luke Stevens (Bass) and Rich Norman (Guitar), came together from the back streets of their hometown, Stevenage, and from years of kicking around the local music scene together.
 
The Defekters have been billed alongside some of the scenes top acts including, Zion Train, NOFX, The Skints, Gentlemans Dub Club, Jimmy Cliff, Dirty Revolution, King Prawn and many more at some of the UK’s top venues and festivals, including The 100 Club, and The Jazz cafe (Camden) for The London International Ska Festival, as well as main Stage performances at Beatherder Festival and Silverstone Moto GP, with appearances at Boomtown Fair, Sunrise and Alchemy festival to name a few. 
 
The Defekters are being played on numerous radio stations across the globe, including a live set on BBC Introducing in the UK. 2016 is set to be a big year for The Defekters with numerous shows and festivals already booked. This year will also see The Defekters take their live show out of the UK for the first time with festival appearances in Germany at Freedom Sounds Festival and Querbeat Festival.
 
To date, the Defekters have released two EP’s, ‘Rise Up’ and ‘Violated’, and are about to release their 3rd EP in Feb. 2016, all of which are available from Bandcamp.
