State of Satta is a seven-piece dub-fusion band based in England, brought together by a collective love of dub and reggae. The band fuses the rhythms of one-drop and steppas, bone-shaking bass lines, and resonant vocals to create a distinct groove-driven sound. Founded from the ashes of 2020, State of Satta released their first live Single and Video session, ‘Bring out the Fiya’ in the Spring of 2021, garnering 15,000 views on Facebook within its first three days. While still being a young band, the players in it have a wealth of experience playing alongside and within Stig of the Dub, Mairaj & the Family, and Radio Riddler.
Influences include Nubiyan Twist, Gentleman’s Dub Club, Buena Vista Social Club, The Skatalites, Fat Freddy’s Drop, The Skints, Bob Marley & The Wailers, The Specials, Shanty, Backbeat Soundsystem, Dub Inc, Thievery Corporation.
Notable gigs we have done/booked for include headlining Kendal Mountain Festival Official Afterparty, Boombox Circus at Beaverworks (Leeds), supporting Undercover Hippy (Sheffield), Bearded Theory Festival – Magical Sounds stage.
