Samora & Brother Culture
Only a month after her versatile debut album ‘Moengo’, the talented young singer of Surinam descent and Amsterdam-based Samora releases the single ‘Little Green Bag’. 50 years after the original release of the 1969 hit song of George Baker, ‘Little Green Bag’ has been revived by Samora in collaboration with experienced MC Brother Culture from London. The new version of the tune was given a catchy old reggae treatment by the producers Guido Delvoux and Aart Timmermans. It was recorded at HAL 5 Studio in Amsterdam and Evidence Music Studio in Geneva, mixed at Ariwa sounds Studio in London and released by Dutch record company Runn Records. ‘Little Green Bag’ is Samora’s first real international collaboration and it is just another example of her versatility.

Samora’s debut album ‘Moengo’, released on February 8 2019, takes you to a place where you are surrounded by a raw energy and promising mainstream urban sound combined with the freshness of Reggae, Dancehall, Pop and modern Soul. Samora’s music is diverse, yet always full of energy and strength. She unites her joy of living and cheerfulness with powerful messages and her songs bring appealing melodies and riddims. She knows how to instantly steal everyone’s heart with her fantastic voice, full of fire and soul. Not really surprising because she has been involved in music from an early age.
The album title ‘Moengo’ is a tribute to her Surinamese roots. ‘Moengo’ includes the big tune ‘Me Na Fallin’, a song written and performed in collaboration with the Swiss Reggae Combo Open Season, released in September 2018. Another upcoming single from this fantastic album is the single ‘Push’ featuring Dutch-Surinamese dancehall artist Kalibwoy, which will be released in April.
