Ricci & the Tic Tac Toes

United States

XoRasta Ricci, Singer / Songwriter, was born in Los Angeles, California & though he traveled & lived in various countries & continents, he returned to Los Angeles four years ago to pursue his dream of spreading the message of JAH. Ricci was clearly influenced by Robert Nesta Marley’s message of God, Justice, Peace and Love and ever since hearing Marley’s lyrics and vibes decided that music would be his forum for spreading his message of Think Right, Speak Right, Do Right. Ricci started singing at a very young age, whether it was at choir in church or just for pleasure. In the late 90s he started a band called ‘The Natural Disasters’ in Washington DC, which helped him gain experience. In 2017, he released his first single ‘Purple Roxy’ aka ‘You’re so Magical’ with the help of his good friend and producer at Goodvibe Studio.

Ricci & the Tic Tac Toes were nominated last month for their REGGAE song ‘WAKAYO’ by the HOLLYWOOD MUSIC IN MEDIA AWARDS, a precursor for the Grammys, and Oscars, one month after its debut release on August 1st of this year. The winner will be announced on November 14th. Here is the link for the new video of Wakayo where the emphasis is on imagination more than image. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8QhAlpoPbWo

One day Ricci picked up his guitar, and as he started to chant and pray, unbeknownst to him the words, ‘Wakayo, Wakayo, Wakayo’, flew out. Ricci decided to do a search to see what it meant. The result of the search baffled him. Wakayo meant ‘Oh Good God’ in the ancient tribe of Oromia, one of the oldest religions in Ethiopia, which still exists today. The birthplace of his Majesty Emperor Haile Selassie. The land of RAS Tafari. Coincidence? WOW!

Wakayo is the first single from their upcoming album ‘All Go Rhythms’ and the Tic Tac Toes are currently in production stage for their second single of the album called ‘ChrisTina in the key of J’.
