Take It Slow

Meet Joggo (Jurgen Orville Seedorf) a Dutch reggae artist with Surinam roots, born October 29, 1980 in Amsterdam, Holland.

Along with football, music has always been Joggo’s biggest passion. At the age of ten, he entered the Ajax Football Academy, remaining there until he was seventeen. He then left Ajax to join Real Madrid in Spain, where he stayed for a year before returning to Holland to play for the Dutch First Division teams.

In 2011, Joggo decided to stop playing football and returned to his main passion, music. Joggo grew up with diverse musical influences, however, reggae has always held a special place in his heart because of the positive and conscious messages delivered through the music. His uncle, a DJ, used to play reggae tunes at festivals and parties and had always let him do a few songs. As a teenager Joggo was also part of several traditional Surinam roots bands.

The release of his mix tape ‘Beware’ on Bobby Konders ‘Kingdom Riddim’ had a huge international impact and peaked at the #2 position in the official German Reggae Charts for weeks, bringing Joggo to the attention of reggae music lovers everywhere.

His popularity with the crowds at music festivals such as Summerjam and Reggaejam proved his value as an excellent live performer. He has also opened for Stephan Marley, Ijahman Levi, Midnite, Turbulence and others.

After releasing several singles on riddims of internationally well-known producers such as Curtis Lynch, Jr Blender and more, Joggo also received recognition in Hawaii, where his single ‘Peace and Love’ turned out to be an instant hit.

In June 2011 Joggo’s first official album, ‘Modern Rockers Vol.1’ was released by Dredda Records featuring hit songs ‘DJ,’ ‘Gun Down’ and ‘Strong Black Woman.’ Since then, he has been busy recording and producing tracks for his latest album ‘Conscious Love’ released on May 14, 2015 under his own label, Joggo Music Productions.

Now Joggo is again ready to hit the stage with new music and a brand new, wicked live show backed by his new band ‘Jah Livity.’

Stay tuned for more Joggo music!!
